Ah yes, youth, sweet 17,18, 19. The age of transaction from a kid, to a teenager.
So many times have we've seen rising stars at the age of 19 coming out with their debut album, marketing around the young teen audience. Lets face it, it works, who wants to see a group of 4 old girls / men singing?

From groups such as Danity Kane, Girls Aloud ( My fav of all, if you don't know them, google cheryl cole. ) , Pussycat Dolls, Girlicious and many more, consist of girls scouted at a very young age.
Except for nicole, that girl turned 30 this year and shes dating a 23 year old... lucky bastard lewis hamilton.

Anyway, if you really look into it, not all of them are really "talented", come on, admit it, you listen to them mostly cause One of them can sing, the melody is nice, and the other backups... are just fucking hawt. Example - Girlicious. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. No talent, watching their videos is like watching soft porn, but they do know how to market themselves, so respect still.

What started all this teen pop dated back to the early 90's. Backstreet Boys, which after more than 10 years, you are still calling yourselve backstreet BOYS ? dude.... N'sync, which only lead singer was Justin Timberlake.

Another big group was Spice Girls, and no, Victoria Beckham did not get famous cause of her singing... she got famous cause of the name she married into.
We now have PussyCat Dolls, which I think are alot better than Spice Girls to be honest, atleast they can dance, spice girls....haha, you call what you did in "Stop" dancing.

That begs the question, what happens to them after a short 5 year of fame ? when the group is.. no longer marketable to teen generation anymore ?
Spice girls broke up cause their last album flopped BAD, and out came Destiny's Childs, and it gave the world - Beyonce.

Yes, they broke up, and the lead singer takes the spot light and pursue the solo career, (being the only one that can actually sing, it's kind of an asset in the music industry).
For the backups who don't succeed ? They end up being a contestant / judge on a reality tv show, or they end up making random appearance on tv drama series, just so they can still relive whats left of their fame after wash career.

If only they had enough exposure to the audience as their talented singers, cause let's face it, everyone will cheer for someone who has been around in the spot light long enough.
Look at Victoria Beckham, why do people like her? You have no idea too do you !
cause she's been around the spot light all too long, and somehow, some respect must be given to her determined attitude to constantly stay in the spot light.

Congrats to Taylor Swift for winning Country Album Of The Year in ACM. Good choice, we need more "country" teen singers like her to appeal to a wider audience. Even though I heard her sing live... and no, she cant sing live at all. But she is talented in writing music, so yes, she is cool in my books.
It is okay to like a singer when she can't sing cause she can write, that's my justification for my conscience. She kind of reminds me of a young Avril, I can't really put a finger on it, but I feel they are sorta the same.

Most singer's debut are like the biggest thing in the world, with a few hits, the world wide audience has a very very short attention span, hence publicist hit iron when its hot, take the full advantage of it. Most people know... only a few of them are here to stay.

Flo Rida, 2nd album, R.O.O.T.S... hit number 1, sure, But is he going to stay for long ? I don't think sampling old music beats will be a good idea, need to come out with something original soon flo !

Many Many more, But I can say this, young stars such as Soulja Boi, Taylor Swift, Katy Parry are here to STAY, yes, even soulja boi, cause he knows what the audience want. Do whatever you can to stay in the spot light ! Look at Michael Jackson, Madonna, 50 cent, cause to be honest, controversy and scandal is good for publicity, as long you still bring your game to the studio.
We the audience are stupid enough to cheer for almost anything as long you entertain us.

Lets just hope Miley Cyrus doesn't stay.. 15 year olds posing half nude is not something I want to be looking at.
